What paperwork do I need to get legally married in Spain?
Barcelona Brides will take care of your wedding day requirements however it’s important that you consider the following points:
Civil ceremonies require you to prepare a set of documents for the local Civil Registry (we will then make the necessary appointments for you). Please note at least one of you will need to have been a resident in Spain for the last 2 years in order to have a civil wedding ceremony.
Catholic ceremonies: you will need the long form of your birth certificate –(as well as a notarised Spanish translation which we will arrange for you). You will also need a Baptismal certificate which has been issued within the six month period prior to your wedding, and authenticated by the issuing Bishopric (we will arrange this for you). A Spanish translation must be attached. You will also need proof that both parties are free to marry. Please get contact us for clarification of this process.
Blessing: A blessing is very straightforward and no paperwork is required at all if you have already formalised your marriage in your home country (or countries).
What kind of ceremonies do you offer?
We organise civil ceremonies, blessings and religious ceremonies.
Can I get married in a Church even if we are non residents and of non-Catholic religions?
Yes! Of course if you want to get married in a Catholic Church then at least one of you must be Catholic. We can arrange an English-speaking priest. It’s not necessary to be residents of Spain, in order to get married in a Church.
If you are a Protestant then its possible to be married in a Protest Church, even though protestant ceremonies are not recognised legally, it is possible to arrange an English-speaking Protestant priest to give a blessing ceremony.
We are also able to celebrate Jewish ceremonies, although a Kettubah will need to be obtained beforehand from your Rabbi. We can arrange an English-speaking Ashkenazi and Sephardi Rabbi if it is required. We also offer Indian, Iranian, and Muslim weddings.
How much will my wedding in Barcelona cost me?

How much time do I need to plan my Barcelona wedding?
We recommend you start to plan your destination Barcelona wedding at least 6 to 9 months prior to the desired wedding date in order to ensure availability.

What are the Barcelona Brides rates?
Our rates are flexible and start at just 750 EUR for in depth venue research and selection consultations.
Do you offer accommodation packages for my overseas guests?
We have arrangements with apartment and villa providers to ensure your accommodation is easy for your guests. We also offer all-inclusive activities for your wedding party including vineyard tours, yacht charter and personalised City tours. Our goal is to make sure that both you and your guests have an amazing Barcelona destination wedding experience.
Can you take care of our guest’s accommodation and transport?
Yes, we offer all-inclusive packages, which includes help with airport pick up, accommodation (room blocks etc) and full assistance for you and your guests. Contact us for more info.
How does payment work?
We ask you to pay 50% on receipt of your service contract and 50% on the day before the wedding.
