Gatsby Theme Wedding at Castell San Marcal
This Great Gatsby inspired wedding was so full of the couples personality. Aurelie and Daniel came from Zurich, Switzerland, although the bride Aurelie was originally from Congo.
The bride was in love with the Gatsby theme and we made sure this was reflected in the hand made decor details and florals we designed for them. With feathered table centres, a gold photobooth and gold seating chart details. No detail went unnoticed. Even the brides nails by Mante from Barcelona Mua matched the colour scheme of navy and gold. Daniel proposed very romantically to Aurelie after a fancy dinner by the sea, outside under the stars. Their ideas for a dream wedding were inspired by a fusion of the couple’s own styles and personalities.
They used the Hotel Melia Sky as their base which is the 4th highest building in Barcelona and an amazing place for And I Love You So to capture views over Barcelona and the coast line.
The Venue
Aurelie and Daniel had their sights set on a castle wedding. They wanted something in a beautiful and elegant setting, adorned with lots of Gatsby modernist details and flowers. They really wanted to blow their guests away with a luxurious, yet fun atmosphere. So, they chose the breath-taking Castell de Sant Marsal, as a wedding venue, just outside the centre of Barcelona. This stunning fairytale castle, with its beautiful Romanesque and Gothic architecture, sprawling grounds and luscious greenery was the perfect choice for this elegant wedding.
The Ceremony
Aurelie walked down the aisle with her father to Enya. The ceremony itself was performed in the picturesque castle grounds in the glorious, late afternoon sunshine. Led by Aurelie’s uncle, it was a wonderful ceremony, unique and personalised to the couple. After the big kiss, a joyous exit, with thousands of white petals cascading down on them from guests. Their exit was so much fun with the song Sugar by Maroon 5.
Entertainment with an open bar, DJ and Photo Booth took the celebrations into the early hours of the morning. Dancing was very important to this couple and we captured every moment of the party.
