Gemma & Matt’s Rural Vineyard Wedding

Originally from the UK, our gorgeous bride Gemma had lived in Barcelona during the 1992 Olympic Games and had a special connection with the city. When she and Matt decided to celebrate their special day, they had no doubt about the location and we are glad they chose Barcelona Brides to plan their Rural Vineyard Wedding.

The venue The lovely couple decided on a spacious villa in the countryside about 40 minutes by car from Barcelona. At Cal Simo they were able to enjoy both a few relaxing days with family and friends and have the ceremony and the party for their wedding.

The decoration With the decoration we wanted to reflect the couple’s style and so we took care to make all designs according to their preferences. There was a friendly wink to Gemma’s childhood in Barcelona with boards featuring the 1992 Olympics mascot Cobi. We also designed boards with messages for the guests written by the couple and many fun details for the photo call and the party area.

The ceremony Masía Cal Simó is a spacious villa holding up to 30 guests so there were plenty of areas to structure the wedding around. A big oak tree provided the shade and a romantic setting for the ceremony as the couples exchanged vows and some of their closest family members also expressed their joy and love for Matt and Gemma. The atmosphere was made even more idyllic thanks to the live music by Javier Luque on acoustic guitar.

The party After the ceremony the guests enjoyed a cocktail around the pool area. As it was a wedding where 7 of the guests were kids, we had arranged plenty of fun activities with Canguro Boda to keep them entertained.  For the dinner and party we moved to the main outdoor space of the villa that was tastefully decorated with lights and provided ample space for dining and dancing.

Outstanding vendors The gorgeous pictures that you see on this blog are by Asier Altuna. He really did justice to the beautiful setting and the fun loving guests. The food and drinks were catered for by one of our trusted vendors – Sibarum Catering. They crafted a varied menu with many typical Spanish dishes as the couple had wanted. DJ Marian with whom we have worked before was in charge of the party mood and had everyone dance till late. The florals were once again by our trusted Pepe Von Strudel. We also look forward to the video by Edu Granell to relive this special Rural Vineyard Wedding.
