K&A magical wedding at la Baronia: interview with our Bride

Kelsey and Al were nothing short of magical, they were a dream to work with. All the way from the USA they were blessed with a perfect Summer day. Their decoration and florals complemented this gorgeous venue so perfectly and it was a reflection of them!

Thank you Kelsey for taking the take to be interviewed about your magical wedding at la Baronia.

Describe your la Baronia wedding day in 3 words!

Magical, Sublime, ‘positive vibes only’ 🙂

What was your favourite memory from your Barcelona wedding?

It’s so hard to pick just one! When we say it was the most perfect day it really was for us. To name a few moments that stood out…when we walked back down the aisle together to one of our favorite songs in the most incredible setting…that was almost an out of body feeling. Our dinner was amazing as it was timed with the sunset and everyone being together was so special. Also getting ready in the most beautiful setting with your family and best friends was incredibly special. I could go on!!

Why did you choose Barcelona as your wedding destination?

Barcelona was the first place we traveled together abroad, we always wanted a destination wedding to make it more intimate. We knew our guests would love Barcelona as it’s one of the most energetic cities!

What did you love most about your wedding dress? How and where did you find it?

My dress is by Lace and Liberty, I came across them after trying too many dresses that were not for me. I realized I could custom make my dream dress that was not outrageously expensive. My favorite part of the dress was the back of it!!! I also had a removable skirt for the ceremony that was fun.

If you did it all again what might you change?

I think I would have the party go on longer! There really is nothing about the actual day that I would have changed. Everything was so great….if things went wrong I never knew about them or even noticed 🙂

Tell us about the blooms. What was your favourite thing about your wedding flowers?

Go Floral was so great!! I didn’t want traditional florals, rather I wanted more natural looking arrangements, potted plants, citrus trees, and a black and white theme. We had little kumquats and beautiful black and white flower arrangements on the tables. Our head table had amazing greenery hanging above it with beautiful black lanterns – it was gorgeous! Another favorite was the seating arrangement shelf where they put white flowers in mixed color vases.

What is your advice for other couples getting married in Barcelona?

Trust your planner – they know best! Everyone kept assuming planning a wedding in Barcelona while living in the US was so hard but I kept telling them that it really wasn’t. With the Aisle Planner tool Rebecca uses everything was so organized. She and the team were always on top of everything and had amazing options when I had to choose things like vendors etc. Also, absolutely get married in Barcelona….it’s the most amazing city and your guests will have the time of their lives!!

What cultural aspects did you include in your big day?

I wouldn’t say we had a lot of ‘cultural’ aspects in our day, rather we personalized our day a lot with our friends and loved ones. Our best friends officiated our wedding, we had more than two friends give speeches, and for our first dance we did a choreographed salsa dance that we surprised everyone with! Another good friend made a citrus ‘logo’ that we incorporated in most of our printed items to tie our theme together.

We are so grateful for this review from our bride Kelsey:

Rebecca and her team were absolutely amazing to work with. I originally schedulded our wedding during COVID and we had to push it back a year to May 2022. She was so gracious through the whole process and I really felt like she listened to everything I wanted to make happen for the wedding. Planning from the states I thought would be so challenging but she was there with plenty of vetted and amazing vendor and location options along the way. I am SO happy with every vendor we went with for the day and how everything turned out!!!!

All of our guests are still talking about what a fairytale the day and weekend was. Thanks to Rebecca, Maily and Claudia for making the most magical day happen.
